KARACHI: Skipper Faisal Iqbal carved an unbeaten 93 to help Karachi Zebras maintain their 100 percent record in the Faysal Bank One-Day Cup after defeating Peshawar Panthers by six wickets in their group B round four match at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

Set a target of 211, Iqbal played a captain’s knock off 95 balls, hitting 10 boundaries while Tariq Haroon played the supporting role with an unbeaten 38.

Earlier, Panthers were bowled out for 210 in 47.3 overs as the spin duo of Misbah Khan and Fawad Khan, who took four and three wickets respectively, put up an impressive performance.

Meanwhile, Azhar Ali (84) and Umar Siddique (81) hit half-centuries in an easy six-wicket win for Lahore Lions over Faisalabad Wolves.

Lions chased down the 192-run target comfortably, finishing at 195 for four in 37.4 overs.

Wolves posted a total of 191 for nine in 40 overs as the match was cut short because of a delayed start due to wet conditions. Hasan Mehmood made 41 while Qaiser Ashraf took three wickets.

“The match had to be delayed because of overnight rain,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune. “Thus, in order to compensate the loss of time, the innings were cut short to 40 overs.”

Rams sink Falcons in  high-scoring match

In another match, Rawalpindi Rams won a scintillating high-scoring match against Abbottabad Falcons by five wickets, thanks to a brisk innings from Babar Naeem and Yasim Murtaza at the Mirpur Cricket Stadium.

Falcons amassed 302 for five in 50 overs as Mir Azam hammered 134 off 113 balls with two sixes and 18 boundaries while Adnan Raees scored an unbeaten 94 off 84 balls.

In reply, Rams reached 306 for five with 11 balls to spare. Naeem scored 92 while Murtaza hit 91 not out with a six and 10 fours.

Allrounder Mansoor shines for Stallions

In group A, Mansoor Amjad took four wickets and scored 44 runs to steer Sialkot Stallions to a stunning 14-run win over Karachi Dolphins at the Shaheed Mohtarma Benzair Bhutto International Stadium, Garhi Khuda Baksh.

Stallions were bowled out for 179 in 45.4 overs as Shahid Yousuf made 49 while Fawad Alam and Atif Maqbool took three wickets apiece. Dolphins were then bowled out for 165 in 40.1 overs.

Elsewhere, Bismillah Khan played a 67-run knock as Quetta Bears stunned Lahore Eagles by two wickets at the Municipal Sports Complex in Mirpur Khas while hosts Hyderabad Hawks thrashed Bahawalpur Stags by 126 runs, courtesy of half-centuries from Faisal Athar (68), Taj Wassan (62) and Azeem Ghumman (64) at the Niaz Stadium.
