Australia vice-captain Shane Watson said he would consider quitting Test cricket following his suspension along with three other team-mates for the third Test against India, according to WAtoday.

Head coach Mickey Arthur earlier said that Watson, fast-bowlers James Pattinson and Mitchell Johnson and back-up batsman Usman Khawaja were guilty of a disciplinary breach that involved the players failing to deliver a presentation for the betterment of the team.

The all-rounder reportedly flew back to Australia yesterday afternoon to be with his pregnant wife and said he felt ‘absolutely shattered’ with the decision.

‘’Any time you’re suspended for a Test match unless you do something unbelievably wrong, and obviously everyone knows what those rules are — I think it is very harsh,’’ said Watson. ‘’I’m at a stage where I’m sort of weighing up my future and what I want to do with my cricket in general to be honest. I do love playing; there is no doubt about that. But I’m going to spend the next few weeks with my family and just weigh up my options of just exactly what direction I want to go.”
