Locals rejoiced in traditional music and dance to celebrate a spring festival here at Najigram on Sunday. The green valley with its bright mustard flowers, provided the backdrop for the festivity. People from all walks of life gathered to unwind and take in the sights and sounds. “This gave me a much-needed break from routine. The music and dance performances were really entertaining and a great way to celebrate the changing season,” Amjad Khan, a lecturer said. Meanwhile, Aftab Sparley, a poet and social activist, also seemed pleased with the arrangements. “I request the people all around the world, to visit this serene valley and see for themselves that Pashtuns are peaceful people, leading perfectly normal lives,” he said. “Such activities are indispensable for healthy societies,” Attaullah Jan, a lawyer, said. Moreover, the visitors urged for more, similar events in future.
