On Saturday, Rashda Asad of the provincial anti-corruption court sent ASI Adnan Ahmed and SIO Munir Chandio of Gizri police station and SI Qalandar Buksh on a five-day remand to the Anti-Corruption Establishment.
In one case, Muhammad Amjad filed a petition with the Anti-Corruption Court in which he said that he had to visit the crime division in Saddar to submit a fingerprint report. SI Buksh offered to make a report in his favour if he paid a sum of Rs70,000 as bribe, otherwise he would publish it against him.
Amjad requested Buksh to give him time to arrange the money and contacted the Anti-Corruption Court in the meantime.
He filed an FIR No 20/2010, after which a team was formed, under judicial magistrate Sadaruddin Bohio. The team reached the location specified by Buksh and caught him red-handed while he was receiving the bribe.
Meanwhile, SM Aamir filed a case against ASI Ahmed and SIO Chandio. He said that these policemen had already taken a Rs50,000 bribe from him and were demanding Rs20,000 more for investigating a case.
After the case was registered, the anti-corruption establishment caught the accused, in the presence of the magistrate.
