PPP still most popular in Pakistan: Survey

HBS survey showed that 29% respondent favoured PPP, 25% PML-N and 20% PTI.

A survey conducted by a German organisation has shown that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is still the most popular in Pakistan followed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).


According to Heinrich Boll Stiftung (HBS), a majority of people in Pakistan are willing to vote for the PPP. In the 2008 elections, the PPP got the highest number of votes, HBS said.

According to the orgaistation, except in 1997, the PPP has always received popular support and comparatively higher number of votes compared to other political parties.

The HBS survey showed that 29% respondent favoured PPP, 25% PML-N and 20% PTI.

HBS is a German political non-profit organization affiliated to the Green Party with head office in Berlin. Its main tenets are ecology and sustainability, democracy and human rights, self-determination and justice.

HBS website says “the role of our foreign offices is to engage in political dialogues and observations, offer regional expertise, and implement and coordinate projects in the field of ecology & energy, democratisation and peace & security.”

If the people of Pakistan are so naive and short sighted that after seeing the destruction of every institution of their country by PPP Government and rampant corruption of their leaders they still want to vote for them then they do deserve more catastrophe than what they are facing today.
