Thwarted: Police arrest suspected militant

HANGU: Security forces arrested a suspected terrorist and recovered explosives and a detonator from his possession at a checkpoint in Mamo Khwar on Friday. A security official said authorities, acting on an intelligence report, established a checkpoint at Mamo Khwar at around 11:00am and stopped a vehicle en route to Hangu. The driver was identified as Mujeeb, a suspected militant. A bag containing five kilogrammes of explosives, four charging batteries and a detonator was found while searching the vehicle. The official further said the explosives were being moved to Hangu for a terrorist plot to be executed on Friday.
