Speaking to media in Islamabad, Imran stressed that it took PTI around 10 months to hold these elections, whereas other parties had conducted them in an hour.
Commenting on the problems encountered during the party elections, the PTI chairman said he will try to reconcile the contending leaders, however, if problems persist, they will hold the contentious elections again.
“Holding intra-party elections was a difficult decision. Now, we have to conclude them.”
The results of PTI’s intra party elections showed the return of party’s old stalwarts to power. Generally known as the true face of PTI, these old stalwarts are now poised to topple new inductees in the party from senior positions in PTI, including president, vice chairman and senior vice presidents.

@Nasir Mehmood: I am a student in the US. I have myself donated $500 so far. This is where the funds come from.
Not a big fan of Imran Khan but this was a great step///
Ten months for intra party election and only ninty days for Pakisan-Shabash!
Despite the parties going through the charade, everyone knew in advance what the outcome would be. Kya dhoNg rachayaa hae!
@Nasir Mahmood:
Would IK mind to tell the nation from where he got funds for paid advertisements on private TV channels?
IK has bigger and better things to do than to answer mindless questions so please allow me to elaborate: it is called political fund raising. I have myself contributed over 2 lakh rupees to the party and I also pay annual membership fees of roughly Rs. 6000 per year. And I am only one of the millions who are supporting him to rid us of the monsters who have been destroying our country for the past 30 years. Does that answer your question?
@Adman:
You are right. He should have invited his buddies over for kheer and chose the ones he liked. No irregularities, no lax planning.
We don't live in Sweden. We have to work with the people we have and unfortunately quite a few, like you, have a very shallow understanding of complex processes. I am sure just as democracy gets better from one government to another, party polling at PTI will also get better. But you can der assured, your favourite family limited party will always have the same biryani plates!
@Nasir Mahmood: I am one of thousands party sponsors!
@Nasir Mahmood:
you mind asking this question to PMLN and PPP who are utilizing our tax money for their advertisements??
Would IK mind to tell the nation from where he got funds for paid advertisements on private TV channels?
Imran Khan is the only political leader who commands respect in each province of Pakistan. It will be great for Pakistan if he is voted to power at this critical phase of our history.
Can any other party except JI claim to have genuinely held elections at any level?
They did not conducted, they selected people from their own families
Good work PTI...you proved.............
Holing of genuine intra party election Ik has once again confirmed his credentials of a true democrat struggling for breaking the vicious circle of statuesque in Pakistan,s politics that prevailed in the past six decades. However, he will have to make untiring efforts to boost the popularity of PTI and convert it into electoral success if the recent survey reflecting 4% more decline in its popularity is credible.
A lot of whats wrong with our politics and our country is due to dynastic politics due to lack of true democracies within the so called democratic parties.But I was left a bit disappointed with the media coverage of PTI election.The media instead of appreciating PTI and shaming the rest of the parties,focussed more on the brawls that took place between PTI workers.The attitude of the PTI workers if anything,shows their belief and passion for the process of their intra party election.On the other hand,the media didnt take the other parties to task for elections held overnight,over a few "daigs" of biryani resulting in the un opposed election the whole political families.
Imran defines leadership. Having won the only cricketing world cup, having established the finest hospital in the country; he is the man who should lead Pakistan. Others whose claim to fame is democracy cannot even build a 5 marla house let alone lead a country. The other tainted politicians are mostly people who failed in exams, failed in securing degrees on merit, failed in getting jobs and democracy happens to be their saviour. If democracy did not exist, these people would have been street smart individuals busy in hoodwinking the public as they do now sitting in parliament and begging for recognition.
yeah it waas one of the most difficult decisoin for pti and only passionate leader can do this! have to vote for credible ppl else survival of pak as a nation is difficult. pmln becoming junior ppp with all the electables !
Kudos to Imran Khan and PTI.... He's making an institution which will last long after he is gone.
............and after 15 years you are still learning.
As we notice two big parties PML-N and PPP are transferring its higher hierarchy to there offsprings for all of the slots. These two parties should have held intra party election in true sprit, if they really want democracy in Pakistan.
You are our last hope.
Next PM of Pakistan -->> Imran Khan! INSHALLAH!
Stating the obvious. Other parties are family limited parties not democrat parties, where sons, daughters, son in laws and sometimes even in laws are being prepared to become next leaders.
Kaptaaan shb!! ! Negligence and irregularities were the reasons behind your 10months election span. I would rather say PTI intra party elections were the most disturbed and messed up.
i've never been a big fan of Imran Khan but I have to say that holding intra-party elections is a positive step and one which all the other parties should learn from and try and emulate.
PTI took a risky step but I am glad that they took this decision. It was pretty natural to have some problems in the elections. But this is nothing as compared to the beneficial effect of such process on the long term survival of the party. And I hope that in future, this process would allow only educated and honest politicians to contest the intra party elections.
And hes absolutely right.
Now or never Pakistanis, back this man and PTI
Well done Imran Khan. Lahorites are waiting for the 23rd of March to show their support for you
other parties are non democratic and family parties
IK now you should pull 5th gear. PTI seems was where these days
