Jud Ban: What implications do UN resolutions have for Pakistanis, asks CJ

The petitioner had submitted that the ban violated the organisation’s fundamental rights.

Chief Justice (CJ) Umar Atta Bandial of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed the interior ministry to explain the implications of the United Nations Security Council’s resolutions for Pakistani citizens.


The CJ was hearing a petition filed by Jamatud Dawa (JuD) Chief Hafiz Saeed against a ban imposed by the government to stop the organisation from collecting sacrificial hides.

The CJ adjourned the hearing till March 18 and instructed Khan to bring a reply from the ministry regarding the enforcement of UN resolutions.

The petitioner had submitted that the ban violated the organisation’s fundamental rights.
