PM demands list of NRO beneficiaries
Gilani directs the Establishment Division to prepare the list of beneficiaries of the NRO.
ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has directed the Establishment Division to prepare the list of beneficiaries of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
According to sources, the Establishment Division has also been directed to list the beneficiaries occupying senior positions in the government.
The prime minister has ordered that the report in this connection be submitted to him in 48 hours.
A 17-member larger bench of the Supreme Court had unanimously struck down the NRO on December 16 2009.
However, the Supreme Court has been dissatisfied with the government's inaction to implement the NRO verdict.
