The company said that it has taken this decision purely on compassionate grounds after the blasts on Sunday which killed almost 50 people.
A list of the affected families will be finalised after coordinating with the civic and voluntary agencies.
All outstanding arrears and six month’s power bills of such families will be paid by the company.

@A-Zee: Kesc is not a charity organization but a semi pravate company and if they are even contributing the smallest bit , it should be appreciated.
electricity bills waived off for the next six months - Sounds quite illogical as the present state of the building shows that these homes will need intense rehabilitation before the residents could actually start living in them and start using electricity ! it would have been something appreciable if KESC had rendered full support to the victims and had granted the total billing amount paid in the last six months to the affected families !
This is really a very good initiative by KESC.
well done KESC, friend in need is friend indeed
Thanks Abraaj Group :)
