Rape: Shot dead for refusing ‘settlement’

The suspects wanted Parveen to drop the charges against them, says police.

KHANPUR: A girl was shot dead on Tuesday when she refused to drop charges against those she had accused of rape. Sahja police said that a case had been registered against suspects, Rafaqat Ali and his wife Sughra, who were allegedly involved in rape of Saba Parveen, a resident of Chak 36, few days ago. The suspects wanted Parveen to drop the charges against them, the police said. When she refused to do so, Ali, his wife, and two other accomplices Nasir Ali and Arif, broke into her house and shot her dead.
