Rules and regulations: Wardens to be educated on traffic

The CTO urged people to obey traffic rules and cooperate with wardens.

LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Capt (retd) Sohail Chaudhry said on Sunday that traffic police will form a traffic education commission to train wardens from next week. He said the city traffic police had made special arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic on roads adjacent to the Metro Bus Service. The CTO said that a summary regarding recruitment of 300 traffic wardens had been sent to the chief minister to overcome the shortage, caused by training and permanent deployment of 300 traffic wardens at Ring Road.  He added that the traffic flow was normal on city roads as 90% of construction work at Ferozpur Road being completed.  He said that city traffic police have planned cash prizes, commendation certificates, leaves, rest sessions and training courses for traffic wardens to increase their performance. He urged people to obey traffic rules and cooperate with wardens.
