HYDERABAD: A shutter-down strike was observed in Badin on Sunday to protest against the killing of two men in Karachi.

The victims, Gul Muhammad Ansari and Riaz Ansari, hailed from Badin and used to play dhols at weddings for a living. Last week, they had gone to Mawach Goth to perform at a wedding. According to their relative Ameen Ansari, the men had stopped at a roadside tea stall in the area after the wedding.

As they were sipping tea, unidentified armed men shot at them and fled. The bodies were sent to Badin for burial. The victims’ family and a large number of people staged a sit-in outside the Badin Press Club with the bodies before heading off to the graveyard.
