QUETTA: Members of the journalist fraternity staged a demonstration in front of Quetta Press Club on Saturday against Friday’s killing of Kalat Press Club president Mehmood Afridi.

Mehmood Ahmed Afridi was gunned down by armed men in his shop in main Kalat Bazaar.

The protest was organised by Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) which was led by the acting president of Balochistan Union of Journalists Musa Farman and the member of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Razaur Rehman.

Carrying banners and the pictures of the slain president of Afridi, the protesters said that journalists are performing their duties with diligence in the most volatile areas of Balochistan, but there is no provision of security for them.
