Angry Businessmen: ‘Taxes levied on export sectors unacceptable’

Business community says they will not pay any utility bills or taxes if the subject SROs were not withdrawn.

The imposition of 2% tax on five export sectors by the Federal Board of Revenue is totally unacceptable, Mian Zahid Aslam, president of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has said.


While addressing a meeting of all trade association situated in Faisalabad, Aslam stated that the SROs were not implementable in any way and Faisalabad-based business community and all the trade associations of the region had rejected the tax.

He said that both the SROs were against the interests of the business community where all the relevant authorities are on the same page for destroying the industry and businesses in the country by way of issuing such SROs.

He continued that the business community will not pay any utility bills or taxes if the subject SROs were not withdrawn within next three days.

malik | 11 years ago | Reply Why in the world should existing taxpayers receive extra burden? FBR is a toothless organisation unable to widen the tax and wishes to simply burden people who are already paying taxes. Corrupt officials need to be hanged.

Right. DOn't pay taxes but complain when there are power breakdown occurs due to the defaulting PSO not being able to buy oil.
