Targeted: Four government schools blown up in Mohmand

Nearly 106 schools have been destroyed in Mohmand Agency so far.

Four state-run boys schools were blown up in Safi tehsil late Wednesday night. According to a security official, this was the second attack on these schools.


Assistant Political Agent Jamshed Khan said a search operation has been launched in the area and investigation is underway. Out of the four, two were primary schools and two were middle schools.

More than 60 schools have been destroyed in Safi. Some have been rebuilt, while the government plans to construct the rest under the next Annual Development Programme.

Nearly 106 schools have been destroyed in Mohmand Agency so far.

In another incident, two minors were killed when a mortar shell exploded in Sagi area on Thursday.

The children had reportedly found it lying in the area and were playing with it when it went off.
