Studying History & Civilisation: Museum to be affiliated with GCUF

The DC says that the affiliation will be a first project in Pakistan.

FAISALABAD: The Lyallpur Museum is soon to be affiliated with the Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), which is all set to introduce a postgraduate diploma in heritage management sciences. A meeting to discuss the affiliation was held this week between Divisional Commissioner Syed Tahir Husain and museum officials and a university delegation. The DC said the affiliation would be a first project in Pakistan. He said efforts were being made to make Lyallpur Museum a model museum in the region both in terms of educational visits and research in history, culture, civilisation and heritage. He said that the Allama Iqbal Library in Faisalabad, the Umar Hayat Mehal in Chiniot, and archaeological sites in Shorkot would also be placed under the Lyallpur Museum. He said site would soon be notified to set up the Rai Ahmad Khan Kharl Centre.
