Budget officer Javed is already in the custody of NAB due to the ‘Rs 7 billion arms, ammunition and equipment purchase scandal’. His house in phase four Hayatabad was raided, around mid night.
“We recovered Rs40 million from the house as well as automatic rifles and expensive hand guns too,” said an official of NAB while talking to the Express Tribune.
Earlier on February 22, NAB arrested Arshad Majeed, a contractor, and Javed Khan for their alleged involvement in irregularities in a Rs7 billion procurement deal in the year 2009-10. The contract was for arms, ammunition, related equipment and vehicles for the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police.
These weapons were purchased for KP police in the year 2009-10 and Arshad Majeed was paid in advance for this contract which is violation of the standard procedure. There are reports that the arms were accepted by the police authorities without proper testing.

@Bunty: baby it is detonator fixed in the hand grenade which are just placed above of these injection types, after removing his cap and it is slided in and then ring on it is removed and then thrown on to own muslims brothers when offering prayers in mosques and then attacked or any other gathering-very un fortunate
Quantity is no problem, this is their hobby, no matter KP converts into ruins, all illegal business must continue.A Pashtoon brother without arms and ammunition is just like bride without jewellery.
Of course NAB should take weapons and granats in thei custody because these arms are been usen to destroy Pakistan but if it is to destroy US forces in Afghan we shouldn't stop them because US is not thanking us. Look how many people were killed In Karachi, Baluchistan. Natos's general secritary didn't thanked Pakistan at once time! Chokingly! Why should we help USA when our own people is dying?
Does anybody know what that injection-like thing is in the picture?
Catch the big fish from ANP. Who was he going to sell these arms to?
In other words, business as usual in KP. I would like to know which political figure is involved as its simply not possible for a lowly official to do this on his own.
Good Job NAB, Keep it up
