Express News reported early on Tuesday morning that India TV, who used the image of MPA Manzar Imam, mistaking it for an alleged Indian Mujahideen member of the same name and believed to be involved in the Hyderabad twin blasts last week.
Earlier on Monday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik had admonished the television channel for using the image of the former MQM MPA. Malik had then demanded that the channel apologise to Pakistan for wrongly using the image.

Well, how much free time the person had that he was watching India TV. I guess Pakistan must had good media & TV channels but i guess they aren't as entertaining as India TV. Although the act wasn't intellegent as the noise of revolt lowered its importance , for this thanks to pakistani media. If he would have quitely complained in the ambessy the channel would have been badly impacted for hampering image of a political citizen, Also if the channel would have apologized for an unheard crime the impact on people have been totally different or they might have taken this insult seriously
@Khalid: Was Manzar Imam ever tried and convicted? OBL was wanted by UN where Pakistan is also a member. So yeas, OBL was convicted. Apology now?
India tv, is one of the out dated news channel... Ban this channel. Even we dont lyke.
Guys, this is not done by mistake. This is the way indian media usually works. So don't get surprised. Indian media has developed that culture inside india to involve pakistan in any possible or impossible matter.
@ OBL... Why should Pakistan seek apology...has OBL been ever tried and convicted in any court of Law.... ???????
yesterday ET only said it was Indian media. but, now I know it's India TV and I am not embarrassed anymore!
perhaps the tv channel just heard the name of suspect and googled his name, and yep! they the picture. How amateur are the terrorists nowadays that they have their detailed profiles on internet.
India TV is a big joke. No one takes it seriously even in India.... I wonder why Interior Minister of Pakistan deemed it fit to comment on blunder of India TV as India TV is in itself the biggest blunder in Indian Media......
@OBL: You have an explosive point there that will hover our heads for a very long time.
The TV channel must it a habit to check the verity and authenticity of a news item before telecasting it. Surely, they do not believe in hearsay. Salams.
@Arindom:
We can call India TV a 3rd rate and funny channel, but what about Times Now? I guess it's owned by Times Of India, isn't it?Remember how they showed pictures of five alleged terrorists who were roaming in Mumbai but in reality none of them had even been to India and showed up on Pakistani TV channels.
Its good that India TV apologised....It was their mistake and they owed an apology even if the one seeking an apology doesnt deserve any kind of apology....
WIll Pakistan now please appoligise the world harboring OBL.
This changes everything. Again.
Ha! Funny how the No.3 person in the Pakistani Government is getting all excited and demanding an apologies from a 3rd rate TV channel in India....
They thought that Manzar Imam pictures would be available on Google. LOL!!
Yayyyyyy! Apology!!!
Lol ..reality of India media, always up to something completely insane and unethical with clear animosity against Pakistan ... grow up, please and play a role bring these countries together instead of creating more tensions ..
That's quite disturbing that in what capacity and how interior minister of country is handling a mistake by a private channel of other country. Why he wants to involve already furious governments in disputes. This issue should be taken by Foreign or Information minister or any spokesperson if needed. Otherwise, Pakistani private channel can handle this issue. Wherever he goes and whatever he talks always invites troublesome for the country. How pathetic for a poor nation that we have such leaders who flourish only 'fitna'.
This channel is the single biggest embarrassment to India and journalism in general, even before this incident happened. Every effort should be made to bankrupt this corporate concubine of a news outlet.
