FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has called on people to participate in ‘Save Energy Campaign’ aimed at creating awareness of electricity conservation and pulling the country out of energy crisis. Speaking at a save energy rally organised by Fesco, in collaboration with Shiblee Group of Colleges and USAID Power Distribution Programme here on Monday, Fesco Chief Executive Officer Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan stressed that power distribution companies were making all-out efforts to efficiently manage demand without causing any loss to industrial, agricultural and commercial consumers. He said energy wastage was another factor that needed to be tackled by promoting a culture of efficient consumption. “Billions of dollars are spent on generating electricity and with conservation measures we will not only be able to save foreign exchange, but will also ensure electricity supply to productive sectors of economy,” he said. Praising Shiblee Group of Colleges for playing a major role in promoting education for the last 25 years, he said campaigns like save energy should continue in future as well. The rally started from the Commissioner Office and ended at Iqbal Stadium, where shields were given to some participants for their contribution to the campaign.
