PBSF president Alamgir Sheikh met with the Joint Secretary IPC sports wing Abdul Ghaffar Khan in Islamabad to discuss issues, including the Pakistan-India series which is scheduled for March.
Sheikh said he was pleased Khan pitched the idea of helping them build the academy.
“The IPC are ready to become 50 per cent partners,” Sheikh told The Express Tribune. “They wish to help build an academy where talent like Mohammad Asif can be nurtured.”
Meanwhile, The PBSF, who were set to host a series against India from March 7-10, may have to postpone the event due to a delay in the issuance of No-Objection Certificates (NOC) from the interior ministry.
However, Sheikh claimed the IPC would make use of their sources to help PBSF get the NOCs before Friday’s deadline.
