“If Veena Malik was here, they would have been present,” he remarked.
During the session headed by Awami National Party (ANP) leader Zahid Khan, the additional secretary of Water and Power Ministry informed that the blackout across the country occurred due to fault in the national grid.
He added that power has been restored in all areas of the country except Sindh. The process of restoring electricity in Sindh is underway, he said.
On Sunday night, around 70% of the country plunged into darkness as the technical faults in National Power Control Centre (NPCC) led to a blackout in all major urban centres including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad and Faisalabad.
Last year in January, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahidullah Khan had also called for Veena to be made a member of the Senate to ensure presence of all senators during the sessions.
He went as far as to suggest that Veena should be made the Deputy Chairman of the Senate.

She is so popular, every political party would want to give her their ticket to contest the elections. Desperate times leads to desperate measures.
Our legislature deserve these comments. As a matter of fact they want Vena Malik or her substitutes. They should be given a federal lodge and and office in the Senate/ Parliament. She should give information about the working to the President on dinner. I assure you the house will be full with properly dressed parlimantarians
Good luck Venna Malik, it is your day now. I think she will serve Pakistan better than most of these MNA or Senator.
@Patriot Bengladeshi: What does the Bangladeshi film industry have to do with this story? Please keep your comments relevant, your hate is showing.
It's pretty pathetic that such comments are given space.
I actually find this quite funny. ROFL.
seriously thats the standard of Tribune headlines?? seems like indian media to me with such headlines
Our legislators ironically hails from that back ground that lacks human grooming to interact in societies. No formal education, no training and no gradual grooming of their KSAs. Therefore, they are often un aware what to say and where. there is need to put through this stuff for making better one
@Lawless: yar he was just showing the second person the reality. why a member of national assembly do not attend the session.
Why pull Tehreek e Insaaf into this discussion?
Seriously, our politicians say things like it's over a cup of tea with dear friends. How inappropriate can one get. Articles like this put your paper down tabloid lane.
ET is so happy that a mere comment about Veena makes the top headline, what a crap
Actually we have more popular actress in our film industry than veena malikh.Banglaesh film industry is booming and can one day eclipse lollywood.

very Cheap comment by Senator Humayun Mandokhel.. they should be role mode to the Nation rather saying morally unacceptable words to show his frustration.
Veena makes the world go round. She has so much moral influence on the Senators, that it compares favorably with Roman senators in the dying days of the Republic. Hail Veena!!
