Anti-dengue campaign: Awareness walk held at RAC

The RAC also set up an awareness desk where they displayed banners and placards.

In a bid to sensitise people about dengue virus and to enlighten them on precautionary measures, an awareness walk as organised by the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Sunday. The walk was held to coincide with Dengue Day in Punjab, on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.


The participants of the walk held placards and banners inscribed with awareness slogans. Led by the RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmad, the walk started from RAC and reached Shamsabad where the employees of the council and students distributed pamphlets among the participants.



While speaking to The Express Tribune, Ahmad said that one can get rid of the virus by taking preventive measures. “No death was reported last year due to strict preventive measures taken by the government and the people in Punjab,” he added.



The RAC also set up an awareness desk where they displayed banners and placards. Locals and students visited the desk and get awareness about preventive measures against dengue. Noted artist Jamal Shah also visited the desk and gave awareness lecture to the visitors.
