KARACHI: National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease will have a fully functional peripheral vascular diseases management unit from March, said the executive director of the institute, Prof. Khan Shah Zaman, on Saturday. According to Zaman, peripheral vascular diseases are becoming increasingly common, particularly among diabetes patients. The diseases need to be prevented otherwise the patients might have to undergo amputation, he said.
