Raids in the city: Law enforcers arrest over two dozen suspects in targeted operations

Police raid Sohrab Goth localities while Rangers sweep Pak Colony and Metroville.

More than two dozen suspects have reportedly been arrested during separate targeted operations and raids carried out by law enforcement agencies in different parts of the city on Friday.


Around ten suspects were taken into custody during targeted operations in Faqira Goth and Jamali Goth of Sohrab Goth. Law enforcers said that they faced strong resistance from the criminals during the operations while some culprits managed to escape.

SHO Naeem Khan told The Express Tribune that the operation was conducted following the increase in crime in Sohrab Goth and its surrounding areas. According to him, five repeaters, two shotguns, three snatched motorcycles and hundreds of ammunitions were also found in possession of the accused.



Rangers arrested 13 suspects from Pak Colony and Metroville in targeted operations and also found a large quantity of arms and ammunition in their possession.

Separately, the Special Investigation Unit claims to have apprehended six suspects from Korangi after an encounter. According to SIU officials, the gang’s ring leader, Saleh Bugti, was among the people detained. SIU Chief SSP Farooq Awan said that the accused were also involved in arms smuggling in Hub, adding that multiple weapons were also found from their possession.
