The protestors chanted slogans and blocked the Sariab Road, disrupting traffic flow.
They said the administration deliberately tried to create the law and order situation in the province by arresting their leaders and raiding religious seminaries.
The protestors demanded Mengal’s immediate release and threatened countrywide protests if this did not occur.
They dispersed peacefully after when Haji Rafiq came out and informed them of a meeting currently underway with the administration.
Rafiq Mengal was among the 170 people who were arrested by the police on Tuesday after the Kirani Town blast.
