DERA ISMAIL KHAN:

The Saraiki Qaumi Movement (SQM) held a rally in DI Khan City and demanded that Tank and DI Khan districts be included in the proposed Saraiki province.

The rally was held in front of Town Hall in which Saraiki speakers, including children, participated. The protesters also torched effigies of leaders who are opposing the inclusion of the two districts in the province.

Saifullah Biqarar, who led the rally, said creating a Saraiki province is the right of the Saraiki people. He said that Pukhtun rulers in Peshawar are exploiting their resources in Tank and DI Khan and the Saraiki people are aware of this, adding: “We will continue our struggle for a separate province.”

A new province without the two districts will not be acceptable, Biqarar added.
