PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against one of the inmates who managed to escape from Bannu prison during the pre-dawn assault on April 14, 2012. Gulfam was handed the life sentence in 2007 after being declared guilty of killing Afzal Hussain, a resident of Kohat, in 2005. However, he managed to flee Bannu Jail when more than 200 militants belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) attacked the prison and released 384 inmates. During the hearing on Wednesday, Hussain’s brother Laeq Shah informed a division bench comprising PHC Chief Justice (CJ) Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth that Gulfam was presently in Orakzai Agency.
