RAWALPINDI: An exhibition of Japanese calendars, opened at the Rawalpindi Arts Council on Wednesday, stated a press release. The ninety-five calendars, showcased at the exhibition, depict Japan’s traditional and contemporary arts, sports, automobiles, nature, cultural heritage and architecture. Japanese envoy Hiroshi Oe and Rawalpindi Commissioner Imdadullah Bosal, inaugurated the exhibition. While speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Oe said we must continue to work hard to promote cooperation and strengthen cultural ties between Japan and Pakistan in the future. Bosal said that diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Japan are unique and would be further strengthened in future. “The exhibition highlights Japanese culture and such events strengthen people-to-people contact,” he added. Once the exhibition is over, all the calendars will be distributed to visitors through a draw. Foreign envoys were also present on the occasion. The event was organised in collaboration with the Japanese embassy.
