Benazir murder case: Witnesses summoned for cross examination

The witnesses had recorded their statement last year.

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman summoned three witnesses for cross-examination in Benazir Bhutto’s assassination case for Wednesday, including Dr Abdul Rehman of Rescue 1122, fire brigade officer Muhammad Ghulam Naz and the then Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Masood Janjua, who had recorded their statements last year.

 

Dr Rehman and Naz said that they were deputed in Liaquat Bagh when the former prime minister was assassinated. They alleged that the then superintendent of police Khurram Shehzad directed them to wash the crime scene.

 

Similarly, Janjua said that he had recorded the statement of the accused Abdul Rasheed, who confessed to his involvement in the attack on Benazir.
