ISLAMABAD: A four-member delegation of the Pakistan Navy has arrived in Colombo on a six-day visit to Sri Lanka that aims at sharing experiences in the field of anti-terrorism.

The delegation is headed by Commodore Mehboob Elahi.

The visit is a follow-up of the staff-level talks initiated between the two countries in September 2012, when a defence delegation from Pakistan visited Sri Lanka.

The inaugural staff-level talks covered a wide range of issues relating to the army, navy and air force and it was decided that both countries would exchange defence delegations.

During its stay in Sri Lanka, the Pakistan Naval delegation will call on the Commander of the Sri Lankan Navy, Vice Admiral Janath Colombage, and other officers.

The delegation will also speak on Pakistan’s naval experiences and challenges at training institutes in Sri Lanka.
