Dual nationality: LHC dismisses petition seeking ban on politicians
The petition had been moved by Advocate Muhammad Afaq.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking a ban on political leaders holding dual nationalities and observed that such issues could not be considered at a time when the general elections were approaching.
The petition had been moved by Advocate Muhammad Afaq.
On Tuesday, the petitioner argued that the loyalty of politicians disqualified by the Supreme Court over their dual nationality was suspect.
He requested the court to suspend the registration of the parities headed by politicians who still had dual nationalities.
