A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday that the transfer of operation of Pakistan’s Gwadar port to a Chinese company will open new avenues of business cooperation between the two countries.
Spokesperson Hong Lei expressed these views when asked to comment on the handing over of Gwadar’s port operation to China.
Lei pointed out that Chinese companies have actively been taking part in the construction of various projects in different fields, he added.
“The operation of the port is a new project in China-Pakistan business cooperation,” he said, adding that it is also “part of bilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation.”

@D C BHARDWAJ: I am dead sure you are considering China as India and USA but you are forgetting intentionally this harsh reality,id est,China is the only comrade of Pakistan which always helped Pakistan on every occasion without any inner hidden harmful intentions and objections as India and USA have been shown,displayed,disclosed and done in the past and also have been showing,displaying,disclosing and seeing now-a-days as well.........
@Aschraful Makhlooq:
Fooling yourself does not gurantee you are in safe hands, my observation take that way.

I wish both Pakistan and China at the Chinese take-over of Gwadar and it is a Victory for Pakistan as China has been very reluctant to take over Gwadar. . I refer to the following Article from The News International Web Edition of 31 May 2009 : . Capital Suggestions - Peking Man - Dr. Farrukh Saleem . http://www.thenews.com.pk/TodaysPrintDetail.aspx?ID=180416&Cat=9&dt=5/31/2009 . "The Gwadar Port Project does not make much sense for China", says Professor Zha Daojiong, China's premier energy expert and a leading light at Peking University's School of International Studies. According to Dr Yang Jiemian, president of the prestigious and influential Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, China's Pakistan-policy is under active review. . Now that China has agreed to the Pakistani request over the last Four Years I am sure that China has change its stance in favour of the Pakistani request and as such I once again wish the best for the Port of Gwadar. . Various Ports world wide have "Contracted Out" Operations of some of their Terminals but this is the first time I have come across a FULL PORT being "HANDED OVER" to a Foreign Entity. . Cheer
@Hasan: poor justification mr hassan
"@Arijit Sharma:Congratulations to Pakistan.." Thanks for congratulating and as far as your these words are concerned "But I am thinking British East India Company. Same mistake, different power." then for your kind information never forget it that China ain't India or UK or USA that will deceive and harm Pakistan in any forms and manifestations and China is Pakistan's time tested,all season,trustworthy and credible friend more than USA and India and history has proven it that how beautifully,strongly and credibly China fulfilled its comradeship with Pakistan in the past without harming and deceiving Pakistan and Pakistan's nation. Most cordially welcome China to Pakistan......
@Hasan: Dear Hasan,This port is still the property of pakistan and china is only responsible for its operations,its not sold to them. Just think abount what kind of great benifits we will get if the port operates under the supevision of china and not our lazy govt.
One day we ll read a headline "China appreciates the transfer of pakistan's Capital to Beijing'
This is China, the regions super-power and Pakistan long lived friend. I agree that China will look into its benefits firsts but that will also benefit Pakistan and as how being treated by U.S, that's the only way out. Do you have any information that how much damage the U.S have caused to Pakistan for its war in Afghanistan, how much they have paid to us for all the routes they have used to transport supplies to their marines. We've paid a huge price, we have seen the worst terrorism in our country not only in Baluchistan, but every where in Pakistan. Above all, I am pretty sure. with this deal as the trade corridor gets open. it will be the Balochi's first who will gonna be benefited,
sad day for the people of balochistan.. on one hand they are massacred, on the other hand the govt is selling their lands, resources, and natural assets to foreign companies on dubious secretive deals, like these shrewd clever chinese, who are slowly buying out every important asset of this country. I pray for our brothers... sad day for pak as whole.
Congratulations to Pakistan. But I am thinking British East India Company. Same mistake, different power.
