NCA holds event for Imran Qureshi

There was a performance by NCA student Salman Hunzai and My Hour, a play conceived and directed by Imran Qureshi.

The National College of Arts held a commemorative event on February 17 to celebrate Deutsche Bank’s Artist of the Year 2013 Award for Lahore-based artist Imran Qureshi in Berlin in November last year.



A press release issued on Tuesday said the NCA had hosted a series of events including an installation by Imran Qureshi titled …And they still seek the traces of Blood at the Zahoorul Akhlaque Gallery. This was followed by a note on the award and Imran Qureshi by Shabnam Khan, the NCA principal, and an introduction to Imran Qureshi’s Art by Amna Naqvi, director of Gandhara Art, a statement by Faizan Mitha, chief country officer for Deutsche Bank, a video message by Christofer Habig, Deutsche Bank’s global head of group brand communications and corporate citizenship, and Friedhelm Heutte, director of global head of art, Deutsche Bank, an address by Dr Cyrill Nunn, the Germany ambassador to Pakistan, and screening of a short film titled Artist of the Year directed by Shah Zaman Baloch.

There was a performance by NCA student Salman Hunzai and My Hour, a play conceived and directed by Imran Qureshi and written by Muhammad Attique and Imran Qureshi.
