ISLAMABAD: Breastfeeding for the first six months of a child’s life and solids afterwards, can prevent 53,000 Pakistani children from dying each year. This was the crux of a report titled “Super Food for Babies: How overcoming barriers to breastfeeding will save children’s lives” that was launched under the “Everyone campaign” of Save the Children on Monday. The campaign aims at reducing maternal and under-five child mortality.  The report reveals that in Pakistan, deaths of one in eight children each year could be saved through breastfeeding alone.
