Wapda’s Muhammad Sabbir took the lead on the first day of the 60th National Men’s Cycling Championship as he covered 40-km in the time-trial event in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) Muhammad Tahir secured the second place and Punjab’s Muhammad Shakil came third out of 50 cyclists in the three-day competition.
In the 70-km time trial team event, Wapda led the first phase, while Sind followed them in second and HEC took the third position. “Time trial is the toughest event, we don’t exactly take the time, but whichever team reaches the finish line first wins the competition,” said a Pakistan Cycling Federation official.
