A photographic and paintings exhibition depicting ancient civilisations and modern face of Pakistan was held on the campus of the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) on Friday.
The exhibition “Discover Pakistan” brought to light some colourful, enchanting and stimulating insights of the society, such as scenic beauty, tourist destinations, archaeological sites and rich culture of all the four provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Around 60 photographs taken by students of SZABIST’s Media and Communication Studies (MCS) were on display, said a press release.
A wide range of landscape paintings and sketches depicting dark and bright faces of Pakistan also served to attract visitors.
The exhibition is a part of the students’ curriculum which requires them to visit different areas and come up with eye-catching and appealing photographs and paintings.
Visitors appreciated the creativity of all the students but the photograph that remained centre of attention was “Hide and Seek” a by Amna Khan, a student of MCS.
“I have been capturing photographs for the last 10 years but this is the first time that my photographs have been put on display and it is being appreciated by so many people,” commented Ali Hassan, a student of MCS.
Dr Bakhtiar Ali, head of the capital campus said that they were actively working to harness the artistic skills of the students.
