The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) local activists have described the all-parties conference on peace convened by the Awami National Party (ANP) a futile exercise.
They said that the Pashtun leaders did nothing on ground for peace in the province during the last five years.
Speaking at a news conference on Saturday, PTI Tribal leader Iqbal Afridi and Peshawar District Bar president Yasin Khalil, came down hard on the ANP leadership saying that the champions of Pashtuns cause were ‘misleading’ the masses by calling such unproductive APC’s, but, on ground, they failed to establish peace in the province.
They said that the declaration of the ANP-sponsored APC would not yield positive results in the terror-stricken province, as, according to them, joint parliament resolutions on the law and order situation could not be implemented properly.
On the occasion, an activist of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) and former assistant political agent for Bara,
Khyber Agency, Shah Hussain Afridi, announced he was joining the PTI along with relatives.
Hussain Afridi said that the country needed an honest and dedicated leadership to steer the country out the present quagmire. He lashed out at the ANP-led government saying it brought people nothing but miseries.
Iqbal Afridi said that the country was facing numerous internal and external threats due to the wrong policies of the rulers. He said that holding of free and fair election was the only solution to the current mess.
