Balochistan Agriculture: Trainers to educate 20,000

Secretary Livestock, Naseem Lehri said that livestock department would benefit from this training experience.

QUETTA: A group of farmers, experts and government officials from Balochistan who returned from a visit to Australia will educate over 20,000 local farmers in the province about latest agricultural techniques, said international marketing specialist of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FOA) here on Friday.

The farmers were selected for the project on the criteria of their ability to pass on the knowledge gained to their communities from both Pashtun and Baloch districts, he added.

Secretary Livestock, Naseem Lehri said that livestock department would benefit from this training experience.

He noted that about 50 per cent of the country’s livestock is in Balochistan.
