Bulldozers greet rule-breaking farmhouses

Excess covered areas of agro farm 26-A and 20-B in the Chak Shahzad Poultry and Vegetable scheme have been demolished.

ISLAMABAD:


The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday demolished the covered area beyond the permissible limits of two agriculture farms in Chak Shahzad during a fresh drive against violators in light of Supreme Court directions.


The excess covered areas of agro farm 26-A and 20-B in the Chak Shahzad Poultry and Vegetable scheme have been demolished, while the owners of farms 26-A and 16-A have submitted fines of Rs2.5 million each.

A CDA spokesperson said that under SC directions, action was being taken against 139 farms for violating the terms and conditions of allotment and notices have been issued.
