Suicide car bomb attack on Hangu checkpost kills 7, injures 11

More casualties are feared as some of the injured were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

PESHAWAR: As many as seven security personnel were killed and eleven others were injured when a suicide bomber rammed his explosives laden car into a security checkpost at Thul in Hangu on Thursday evening.

A senior security official told The Express Tribune, that the bomber had targeted the Spin Pul police checkpost, “two police and a levis official along with four civilians had been killed immediately.”

More casualties were  feared, the official said.

Police officials said that the checkpost had been destroyed, while the injured had been rushed to a local hospital so far, some in critical condition.

This was the fourth major incident of the day after six armed militants had attacked a police station in Bannu and two separate blasts had killed at least six people and injured more that 26.

President Asif Ali Zardari in a statement strongly condemned suicide attack near Tul check post in Hangu.

In a statement‚ he reiterated the government’s resolve to continue the fight against militants till its logical conclusion.

@numbersnumbers: Sir, You did not grasp the case. It is not about Afghanistanis putting up with Taliban or Pakistan's presence in future nor is it about the number of casualties. It is about forces and their will. You must be true indian to lose the thread of logic so easily. Pakistanis argue better.

Why is it Pakistan can't bring order to these tribal areas that are the size of New Jersey? It's mind boggling.
