Road Accident: Eight of a family die in Pishin crash

Police says the cause of the accident is over-speeding and reckless driving.

QUETTA: At least eight people, including two women and three children, were killed in a head-on collision between truck and a car in Pishin district, some 30 kilometres from the provincial capital.

According to the police, a man identified as Abdul Salam and his family were going to Chaman from Quetta when their car hit a truck, which was coming from opposite side in the Killi Sheikhan Khan area near Yaro.

Resultantly, the passengers were killed on the spot. The truck driver fled from the site of the accident.

The deceased were taken to the Civil Hospital Quetta. The family lived in Satellite Town, Quetta.

“The cause of the accident is over-speeding and reckless driving,” said a police official, adding that the family was going to attend a wedding in Chaman.
