Award: UET Professor wins best research honour

Dr Babar received the award from IEEE Communication Society Chairperson Professor Thomas Byeong-Nam Yoon.

PESHAWAR: Professor Dr Mohammad Inayatullah Khan Babar from the University of Engineering and Technology was awarded the “Best Research Award” by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The award was presented at the IEEE’s 15th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT) 2013 held in Phoenix Park, South Korea. A panel of three judges comprising eminent engineers and professors constituted by IEEE Communication Society declared the paper presented by Dr Babar titled “Robust Modified MMSE Estimator for Comb-Type Channel Estimator” as the best research based on sound technical contribution and presentation. Dr Babar received the award from IEEE Communication Society Chairperson Professor Thomas Byeong-Nam Yoon. The IEEE has around 400,000 members in 160 countries and aims to advance technology through publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities across the world.
