The Pakistani workers are trapped in the kingdom, deprived of their passports and not allowed to work.
President Zardari has asked concerned authorities to submit a report in three days.
Earlier, The Express Tribune had reported that the workers arrived in Saudi Arabia towards the end of 2011 and since then have not been allowed to work or travel outside the Kingdom.
A Turkish company, MAAPA Construction and Trade had hired these Pakistani workers through different travel and recruiting agencies during 2011 after payment of a hefty sum against visa issuance. The stranded workers revealed that these agencies included Al Jawad recruiting agency and Iqra recruiting agency, among others.
The visas issued to the Pakistani’s were in fact illegal. As the fraud came to light, a case was registered at Emara (Governor House), Riyadh and the passports of the 700 workers were confiscated by Governor House Police. The case is currently under process.

Well I don't blame them - the Pakistanis also hate other Pakistanis. By the way, my misinformed friend, the Saudis are very nice people they love honest hard working Pakistanis. You my friend got it all wrong.

I would not find any fault with the Pakistani workers if they had entered on false visas not knowing that the visas were false. In all probability they would not have known that the visas were false. However, if they had entered KSA on false passports, they should share the blame.
In this case, I find KSA more at fault than anyone else. They should not confiscate the passports and also not allow them to work. This is wrong. They should deport the workers. These workers should also be paid their salaries. KSA should hold the Turkish company responsible, punish them, and also make them pay the salaries to the employees.
What both KSA and the Turkish companies are doing is totally wrong, unless there is something more than what is written in this news. Wonder how the workers were able to sustain themselves since 2011, without a job and income.
