DIR:

A tribal jirga in Dir has announced fresh action against the Taliban after three men from Dir Lashkar were kidnapped and killed by the Taliban from Dir National Peace Lashkar.

Taliban had kidnapped seven volunteers of national lashkar from Chitral, and bodies of three of the abducted men were found from Upper Dir.

The lashkar announced fresh action against the Taliban and has asked the government for help.

Head of the lashkar Mutbar Khan told Express 24/7 that the men were killed because the lashkar opposes the Taliban.

The lashkar held a meeting after the deaths and announced action against Taliban while at the same time asked the government to provide help to the lashkar.

Shahid | 13 years ago | Reply It is pathetic that the government asks people to support it and rise against militants but then does not protect such people. A recent case of taliban crossing into Chitral and conveniently kidnapping and later beheading three anti taliban persons belonging to Dok Darra Dir, is a clear example of failure of government to protect its supporters while it speaks of the power of militants to strike where ever they want with impunity. In such conditions who would risk his life to support a spineless government against deadly militants.
