An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday rejected an application for after-arrest bail by four men accused of publishing allegedly blasphemous books about the Ahmadi faith.
The judge remarked that the petitioners were found guilty in the investigation and that no previous enmity or grudge on the part of complainant or the police has been established.
The counsel for the petitioners had said they were innocent and had been wrongly implicated.
Advocate Chaudhry Ghulam Mustafa, the lawyer for the complainant, said that they were found in possession of blasphemous material.
Moeed Ayaz, Asmatullah, Razaullah and Ghulamullah, employees of Black Arrow Printing Press, were arrested on January 7 as they loaded a small truck with thousands of books and CDs.
They are all Ahmadis.
Arrest warrants have also been issued for the press’s owner, who is at large.
The accused are in jail.

Everyone who translates changes the meaning of the Quran. The only text that is preserved is the Mushaf which is in Arabic. The only way to know the true Quran is to read it in Arabic. In Surah Waqiyah, the book mentioned is not the translation of the Quran, not even a wordly edition in Arabic, but the original Mushaf that is kept in heaven that is touched only by the pure. Various religious scholars have given fatwa that a pure translation, and even a book in which the major portion is translation along with the Arabic transcript is not the same as pure Arabic Quran and therefore, menstruating women can touch a Quran with both Arabic and translation. You, therefore cannot in any way charge someone for translating or interpreting the Quran differently from what you do. To those who cannot distinguish between the two, I would say, get out of the hole of ignorance you live in. Read the works of scholars and not just the mullah in your backyard. Do not make a mockery of Islam. Fear Allah as he will question you on the day of judgment about the falshoods you attribute to him.
@Insaan: Please try and wake up from your slumber,Ahmadiyyat was planted by Allah(swt) and no mortal can exterminate it.Despite all your state sponsored persecussion,what has always being the outcome?Success on the part of the divine Jamaat.Its not a worldly association that's why no worldly government can see to its end.So,no amount of intimidation or harasment can break the jamaat insha Allah
@gp65.: So if Ahmadis are pretending to be the Muslim than Allah will take care of that. Did He give that right to others? If He did then to whom? Secondly, in religion you only force to stop someone when you can not answer logically, theologically and intellectually. If Ahmadis are wrong, instead of imposing sanctions forcefully, you should expose their fallacies. By accusing them but not letting them to answer does not prove anything but your own scariness and hypocrisy. Only oppressors are afraid because they know that for every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. Otherwise there is no point to deny someone from the basic human right of possessing and propagating his or her religious believes. Allah is the only one who knows what they have in their hearts, all others who claim the knowledge of the hearts, are just gods and pretending to be God, Naozobillah. Brother, truth is like the sun, you can shut it out for a time but it is not going away.
@akram:
Really Mr. Akram! Don't make the people fool. There are so many Ahmedis I know personally who has given up Ahmediat!
@Lala Gee: "What blasphemy did they commit? Is printing of books of their faith, blasphemy? Then certainly Hindus cannot print or possess books of their religion as well".
I agree with your notion that Ahmadis should not be convicted of blasphemy for printing books of their faith. COnlfating it with Hindus does not make sense because the issue here is the law in 1974 that Ahmadis should not 'pretend to be Muslims'. Hindus do not pretend to be Muslims anyway. The reason some people were annoyed and considered it blasphemy is because it is the Quran that was interpreted in ways that they did not approve of. Hindus do not translate or interpret the Quran.
Interesting, We see guaranteed Terrorist being released by courts who are laboriously captured by our security forces and yet the court adopts a stricter policy when someone who doesn't share their ideology tries to practice his universal right e.g. Practicing and Preaching One's religion.. Kudos to the courts of our country and our nation which continues in its deep slumber.
@1South:
Muhammad is not mentioned in bible by name, even though Muslims claim Jesus promised that Muhammad (saw) will come.
@Ex-Ahmedi: As long as the motive is not worldly there is nothing wrong to change a sect or a religion to follow the conscious because at the end of the day, we’ll be answerable to our beliefs that we will have at the time of death not at the time of birth. Instead of making a generic statement why don’t you show some examples where Ahmadis have changed the meaning to serve their purpose without having linguistic or historical background?
@Ex-Ahmedi: Seems like you are pretending to be an EX-Ahmadi, just like your brother Kasab and his co-terrorists pretended to be Hindus when they attacked and killed 162 innocent people in Bombay on 26/11
@Md: utter sickness! Why there is no asking or telling about what exactly was written in those books? In what sense was the material “blasphemous”?
Ahmadis will disappear from Pakistan like pundits disappeared from Kashmir. There was a time when there was not a single Muslim in Kashmir before Muslim invaders came to Kashmir.
@akram: kindly advise why mirza sahib is not mentioned in quran or any other holy books or any hadith books?
@Ex-Ahmedi: You got the spelling of Ahmadi wrong so I very much doubt that you were an ex Ahmadi. Its beside the point who you are or not. Ahamadi's have not changed the meaning of any verse of Quran they may commented on Tafsir as their theological leaders saw it which is no different than the Tafsir of a Saudi translation or a Madoudi translation they all have interpreted the same way none of them changing the translation but having a theological discussion. And having a discussion is not a bad thing to have, but denying someone to have that discussion is abhorent and disgusting. I take an offence when we here in west try to do Dawa and Christians try to stop us.
Fake@Ex-Ahmedi: There are more than 200 million Ahmadis in this world, There are half of million in Pakistan. None of them left Ahmadiyyat unless some fake join first then leave. We Ahmadi Muslims are ready to scarify life, wealth for our faith.
Is any Ahmadi representative given own statement in this subject something then I could say something about it precisely. I don’t feel my position so far to giving making any comments on it sensitive affair. Thanks!
@athar mahmood: Dear Athar, moderator did not publish my comments either I think their is a policy similar to the type of democracy we have in Pakistan which is "until you say what I want you to say, you don't have a say". Disagreement is not part of the Pakistani democracy or having an opinion is also not good practice either. But these news papers would like to say what ever they want to say they want freedom of expression but would surely like to deny others like our political and religious leaders.
These Ahmedis try to become innocent as they never did anything wrong. I myself was an Ahmedi and Allah gave me hidaya. Media always try to portray them as innocents. I know very well their inside stories that how they change the translation of Qurani verses to justify Ahmedi's belief. May Allah give hidaya to my other Ahmedi Brothers and Sisters
What a verdict, instead of stating that investigators found compelling evidences, the judge is saying, “the investigation found them guilty” - not a judge but an investigator is giving a guilty verdict and judge is just a spokesperson. This tells a lot about the level of justice and judges in the courts of Pakistan. A very sad and unfortunate development in Pakistani judiciary.... May Allah safeguard all those who are wrongly accused in the blasphemy law. Please be kind and use social media and other tools to express your solidarity with the innocents, along with exposing the bigotry and injustice in Pakistani society for Ahmadies and other minority groups.
The Holy Qur’an clearly states: “And when it is said to them ‘follow that which Allah has sent down,’ they say, ‘Nay, we will follow that wherein we found our fathers. What! Even if their fathers had no sense at all and no guidance?” Holy Qur’an, Chapter 2 verse 171 Alhamdulillah, Islam-Ahmadiyya has all the answers and should be able to satisfy all of your questions. However unless you question, how will you become strong in your faith? It will be just lip-service, based on your Mullah’s decision, not yours. This could result in you being weak in your faith and so easily misled. Please do research yourself, InshaAllah You will find True Islam in Ahmadiyya Muslim Faith. Whole world is recognizing very fast growing faith. Ahmadis are bringing back true face of Islam in all over the world, Ahmadiyya have 24 hours TV channels in many Languages. and doing real service to Humanity in all over the world. Look Muslims for Peace, Muslims for Life and many more attractive teachings & campaigns. This my Humble request to all Pakistanis, WAKE UP, WAKE UP. Time is passing very fast.
what Islam you are talking here?@Yasir Mian:
No surprise, it was expected. I do not really understand as to why the Ahmadis do not learn a lesson from their persistent persecution by the state and the people since 29th May 1974. The die is loaded against them because of certain constitutional amendments made from 7th September 1974 and onward. They should not take such risks that bring more miseries for them.
dear moderator,why are you not publishing my comment??
Very good decision. They should never be given any sort of Bail. Whoever will change the Quran's translation will be given strict punishment.
utter sickness! Why there is no asking or telling about what exactly was written in those books? In what sense was the material "blasphemous"? Its a shame that even courts here have failed to deliver justice to common man.
What blasphemy did they commit? Is printing of books of their faith, blasphemy? Then certainly Hindus cannot print or possess books of their religion as well.
Of course, why it should be a news. "The investigation found them guilty"- so why courts in PAK?
