President approves Hilal-i-Imtiaz for Dr Shah

President Zardari approves conferment of national honour to Dr Shah in recognition of his contributions to medicine.

LAHORE: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday approved posthumous conferment of the Hilal-i-Imtiaz for former Sports Minister Sindh Dr Mohammad Ali Shah, in recognition of his meritorious contributions to the field of medicine.

Spokesperson to the president Senator Farhatullah Babar said Dr Shah’s name was recommended by Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad.

The spokesperson said that Dr Shah would always be remembered for his services rendered in the fields of medicine, social welfare and sports. He said that despite suffering from cancer, the late Dr Shah remained active in the service of the people.

Dr Shah established a hospital where he used to provide quality treatment to patients, especially the poor, and never publiciaed his selflessness.

The renowned surgeon and orthopaedic expert of Pakistan passed away during his cancer treatment in Houston, United States on February 4.

Dr Shah was a widely recognised personality awarded the Pride of Performance, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and Stiara-e-Imtiaz during his lifetime.

whatever his bad qualities. His good work over weighs the bad and he deserves the award. He has contributed alot to cricket, From developing players to holding an event and inviting foreign players to come and play. The man is a legend and had done more than any person here commenting for pak. So dont hate, Go live your sad lives in peace.
