Combating crisis: Govt seriously pursuing IP pipeline

The project will be completed by December 2014, says official.

ISLAMABAD: The government is seriously pursuing completion of the Iran-Pakistan pipeline project to inject 750 million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfd) to meet Pakistan’s growing energy needs. An official of the petroleum ministry said the project will be completed by December 2014, adding that 781-kilometre long pipeline, having a diameter of 42 inches, will be laid inside Pakistan’s borders to flow the gas to the national gas system. The sources said that progress had been made on the project, adding that among other developments, an engineering and project management consultant had been appointed, who had completed the bankable feasibility study, interim front end engineering design besides a detailed route survey.

Years gone and we could not make any survey. Be honest and tell frankly that we are afraid of USA as well no chance of getting kick backs from Iran. Have you laid a single pipe measuring couple of feet. Remember the nation will catch you by throat very soon
