Blast initially reported to be near Qayyumabad flyover.
The blast was powerful enough to shake buildings and windows as far as Defence phase IV.
Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials said that about 200 grams of highly explosive materials were used. They added that an improvised explosive device was attached to a timer to cause the blast.
Korangi Road was badly jammed with traffic after the explosion.
A suspicious person has been detained by police from the site.
DC South said the investigation into the incidence is still underway.
An SSGC spokesperson said the blast was similar in nature to the one that occurred at NIPA a few days ago.
No damage to life was reported.

Its so wrong without providing electricity to all of balochistan its been exported to other provinces.
So from accidental sewer gas explosion to Sui gas explosion using a timed explosive device. Slowly but surely the gas, I mean the truth will leak out.
Is Balochistan going to be liberated by attacking gas installations, the dominant source of revenue for that province?
