Work visit: SHC CJ on 9-day trip to Hyderabad

Justice Alam says new judges would be appointed to the high court by June.

HYDERABAD: Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Mushir Alam has directed district and sessions judges in interior Sindh to dispose of all pending cases in their courts by the end of March. He was speaking to sessions judges from Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Mirpurkhas, Jamshoro, Benazirabad, Badin, Thatta and Sanghar, who had called on him at the judges’ lodges here on Saturday. The SHC chief justice is on a nine-day visit to Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas, where he is expected to meet judges as well as other members of the legal fraternity. Talking to the media after the meeting, Justice Alam said that new judges would be appointed to the high court by June. Accompanied by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, the chief justice visited the Hyderabad Central Jail on Sunday, and expressed satisfaction over jail reforms that had been put in place.
